Where you actually rank among people your own age, using Federal Reserve Survey of Consumer Finances 2022 data. Not the average, which in every bracket below is between three and four and a half times the median, because a small number of very wealthy households drag it upward.
If you have ever read that the typical person your age has some number that felt impossibly high, it was almost certainly an average. The median is the one that answers what is normal.
